The Black Cottage was very well appointed and super comfortable. Great bed and comfortable couches with good TV. Kitchen was spotless and well stocked. Nespresso machine with supplied Vertuo pods was much appreciated. Views were fabulous and unit was very private. Hosts gave us winery suggestions and house manual had helpful restaurant recommendations (we enjoyed take away Chinese food at Delicious Eatery in downtown Napier). Although unit was a short drive to downtown Napier, it was well located for exploring Havelock North (try Piku for Japanese food) and the Bridge Pa wineries. Very comfortable stay and very luxe surroundings! Hosts were very friendly and responsive.

Our stay in the Black Cottage was fantastic. The apartment is beautiful, peaceful and has an amazing view. Linda and Barry are great hosts that went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

A beautiful location and a modern, comfortable and tastefully decorated home. The hosts are lovely people and have given us a great welcome. It is rare to find a place of such quality, a real pleasure. Bravo to Linda and Barry.

We had a very relaxing and peaceful few days away at The Black Cottage.

This is an incredible apartment on top of a hill in Napier. The views from the living room and bedroom are spectacular! It is beautifully furnished and has so many nice touches and perks like bathrobes and snacks.

But the best part about this place is the hosts! Really lovely and welcoming people who made us feel at home from the first moment we arrived. We shared a glass or two of wine with them and got to know them as people. What a welcome thing when traveling to feel so at home. We were quite grateful and happy to chat.

In sum this is one of the best places we've ever stayed on Airbnb. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Napier, if we were lucky enough to book it. I think once the word gets out it may be very difficult to nab a reservation! If you're wondering if this place is as good as it looks, it is and you should grab it if you can.
